Abstract
PRELIMINARY ESTIMATION OF TASKS OF THE GEOLOGICAL SURVEY WITHIN THE FRAME OF THE VISTULA PROGRAMME Summary The planning and realization of ,,The programme of complex build up and use of the Vistula River and water resources of the country" make it necessary to carry out geological surveys and to prepare complex engineering-geological documentation with the adequate overtake. The fulfillment of tasks connected with preparation of the engineering-geological documentation for so large undertaking depends on appropriate increase of research and personnel potential of the Geological Survey. In order to provide efficiency in preparation of the documentation it would be necessary to increase the potential of specialistic geological enterprises, especially in modern drilling equipment, transportation facilities and apparature for laboratories. Attention should be also paid to appropriate coordination of the works. The most urgent tasks include: - preparation of complex engineering-geological documentations for individual objects of groups of objects constructed within the framework of the Wisła Programme; - search recognition and documentation of resources of natural aggregates for production of concrete in areas from which the material may be carried away by waterways; - arrangement of observation network and initiation of observations of groundwater table in areas of the designed water cascades and the reservoirs for the purposes of prognoses of effects of water accumulation, especially on natural environment.Downloads
