Abstract


THE PSEUDORELIEF ILIUMINATION BY RGB SUN SYSTEM – A METHOD OF MULTIDIRECTIONAL FILTERING

Summary
A new method of coloured pseudorelief is proposed. The white pseudo relief is illuminated by three light sources (suns) with basic RGB colours. These suns are uniformly arranged in the sky. This kind of illumination causes that all linear features are coloured, their colour depending of RGB sun system arrangement. As the method enhances by colour different directions of linear features, it can be treated as a multidirectional filtering method. The method was applied to a white pseudorelief of Bouguer anomaly of Poland (see Fig. 1 on cover). This picture can be compared with the colour pseudorelief of Bouguer anomaly of Poland illuminated by white sun shown in the paper [1]. This method can be used in other fields, where we seek linear features in 2D data, e.g. in satellite images of the Earth.
