Skała kwarcowo-skaleniowo-kaolinitowa z Nowego Świętowa k. Nysy jako surowiec ceramiczny
Abstract
QUARTZ-FELDSPAR-KAOLINITE ROCK FROM NOWY ŚWIĘTÓW NEAR NYSA AS CERAMIC RAW MATERIAL Summary The rock complex from the vicinities of Nowy Świętów near Nysa, characterized by predominance of leucogranitoids, was usually shown as paragneisses or quartzites in early geological maps and usually treated as without economic value. The change in these views took place in the beginning of the seventies when systematic studies showed that these are polymineral rocks, mainly built of quartz and feldspars, subordinate amounts of kaolinite, and some accessory minerals. It appeared that the rocks mainly consists of hematite, goethite and, sometimes, zircon. Feldspars are here represented by potassium varieties : microcline and orthoclase. Such mineral composition makes possible assignation of these rocks to three-component (quartz-feldspar-kaolinite) raw materials for the ceramic industry.Downloads
