Summary
The paper presents a method of fixation of samples of fine-grained sediments fully saturated with water, with the use of vinyl polyalcohole. Laboratory studies made it possible to estimate optimum concentration of solutions and time of saturation for samples of lacustrine chalk and fine-grained sandstones. The techniques of fixation of sediment samples and making sections of such samples for microscopic studies are described.
