Abstract
HYDROCHEMICAL REGIONALIZATION IN MAPS DEALING WITH CONSERVATION OF GEOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT
Summary
The principles of hydrochemical regionalization of an area, used in solving some problems connected with protection of groundwater, are discussed in the paper. In discussing the types of hydrochemical regionalizations, generally accepted criteria and examples of various subdivisions are given. Attention is also paid to problems connected with compilation of hydrochemical maps for the purpose of protection of geological environment. A special attention is given to the problem of cartographic presentation of vertical and lateral variability of hydrochemical conditions and a convenient method of easily legible hydrochemical regionalization, taking into account the above problem, is presented. The presented methods of regions by extended characteristic sections - tables - given in the explanations to a map may be also used in other hydrochemical and hydrogeological works.
