MUD BALLS FORMED DURING FLOOD IN LOWER SILESIA IN 1977
Summary
Mud balls, both fossil and modern, were often described in the literature. From geological point of view, they represent an evidence for definite hydrodynamic conditions in a given environment. Mud balls formed along Sudetic sections of streams and rivers during flood in Lower Silesia in 1977 are described. Attention is paid to the mode and place of accumulation of mud balls, their form, size and armouring with gravels as well as the conditions enabling their preservation.
