Abstract

THE RESULTS AND FURTHER DIRECTIONS IN SEARCH FOR HYDROCARBON ACCUMULATIONS IN THE PERMIAN OF THE WSCHOWA AREA Summary The history of search for hydrocarbon accumulations in the Wschowa is discussed. The search began with drilling the borehole Wschowa-I in 1955. The progress in the search programme and its positive results were taking place along with the progress in search techniques, especially in the field of seismic surveys, and in the knowledge of geological structure of that region. Several gas fields discovered here are of remarkable importance for covering the demands of national economy. The conditions of hydrocarbon accumulation and perspectives of further search are briefly discussed. The results of seismic and geological surveys indicate that the Wschowa area is highly perspective for new discoveries of gas fields with 25 – 75% content of hydrocarbons.
