Summary
The works of the Committee of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the years 1978-81 are discussed. The range of activities of the Committee comprises the whole field of geological sciences, especially dynamic geology, stratigraphy, tectonics, paleontology, mineralogy, geochemistry, petrography, geological mapping, geology of mineral deposits, engineering geology and hydrogeology. The Committee also acts as the National Committee of the International Union of Geological Sciences.
