Abstract

DEPRESSIONAL CONE IN AREA OF THE CZĘSTOCHOWA-KŁOBUCK IRON MINES

Summary
The changes in hydrogeological conditions in the Częstochowa - Kłobuck iron-ore mining area, connected with groundwater drainage from Dogger rocks (sands and sandstones of the Kościelisko Beds), were analysed on the basis of data from the national groundwater observation network.
The shape and extent of regional depression resulting from many-years drainage and the mechanism of changes of depressional cone during its refilling along with cease of mining, are discussed. The mobility of dynamic water table in the Kościelisko Beds was found to be varying in individual parts of the regional depression, depending on geological-tectonic setting and the process of drainage. The functional interdependence between amplitude of oscillations and mean annual water level and standard deviation was established.
