Abstract

EVALUATION OF ECONOMIC USE OF ROCK RAW MATERIALS - PART 2 Summary The recent economic crisis appeared especially severe in the case of management of rock raw materials. The shortage of basic raw materials became even greater due to decrease in their extraction in 1978, and it will bear a decisive influence on the development of national economy in the next years. This problem has been more widely discussed in the last issue of this journal. In the present situation, the priority should be given to covering the following demands: to supply indispensable amounts of mineral raw materials for building industry; to cover the demands of road building for mineral raw materials; similarly, to cover the demands of agriculture for raw materials for production of calcium fertilizers; to reduce import of raw materials, especially from the western countries. The above tasks are of utmost importance for the development of the national economy, so appropriate attention should be paid to exploitation of rock raw materials. The tasks which should be undertaken in order to cover urgent socioeconomical needs are outlined in this paper.
