Abstract
ANALYSIS OF VELOCITY OF PROPAGATION OF ELASTIC WAVE IN CRETACEOUS, JURASSIC AND CARBONIFEROUS ROCKS IN THE LUBLIN COAL BASIN
Summary
The paper presents summary of works aimed at definition of velocity model of a medium on the basis of well logs, carried out in the years 1978-1982. First and second parts of the paper deal with methods of measurement of layer velocities on the basis of c,0rrelations between velocity and apparent resistance, and the use of time t1 for quantitative interpretation of velocity. The results of interpretations of curves t1 and Δt of acoustic profilling and the obtained regression equations were used in defining velocity model for Cretaceous, Jurassic and Carboniferous rocks in the Lublin Coal Basin. Mean velocity values for selected lithostratigraphic horizons in 23 boreholes in various parts of the studied area may serve as the basis for velocity estimations in other boreholes.
