Różne typy mikrostruktury w zawiesinach smektytów i ich zachowanie się przy suszeniu
Abstract
VARIOUS TYPES OF MICROSTRUCTURES IN SMECTITE SLURRIES AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON DRYING BEHAVIOUR Summary In the study of microstructure of bentonite (smectite) slurries used in Civil Engineering for excavation of narrow trenches, the drying test (DTest), water sorption test (WSTest), TG, SEM and XRD were applied and interpreted by a physical model of clay behaviour. Three forms of microstructure were found (parallel, cluster and flocculated). Their relative quantities depend on particle delamination (measured by WSTest). Aggregation processes influence the viscosity, the drying rate. of the slurry, the water sorption and the shape of the dried residual.Downloads
