Abstract

THE USE OF SPECTROMETRIC MEASUREMENTS OF NATURAL GAMMA RADIATION IN GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS IN POLAND Summary Possibilities of selective identification of sources of natural gamma radiation in geological medium markedly widened the usability of method of measurement of complete natural gamma radiation, used for a long time in geophysical surveys. In Poland, surface, airborne and we11 variants of this method have been used for more that 10 years, giving a lot of interesting methodological and documentary data. In the Polish literature there is no paper which would present the above method or results obtainable with its use. That is why the knowledge of this method is very limited or, sometimes, incorrect. The paper is aimed at presentation to the Readers both some methodological questions related to this method and some results of surveys carried out with its use by the Geological Institute.
