Możliwości rozpoznania podłoża podpermskiego północno-zachodniej Polski metodą strippingu

Abstract

ON POSSIBILITIES OF RECOGNITION OF SUB-PERMIAN BASEMENT IN NW POLAND WITH THE USE OF THE STRIPPING METHOD Summary The studies aimed at gathering material for analysis of the area of north-western Poland with the use of the stripping method have been initiated in the Geological Institute in 1982. Final results of these studies should include elimination of gravity effects of post-Carboniferous strata in this region and obtaining the image of gravity anomalies related to sub-Permian strata. The nature of the stripping method and history of its name are discussed and possibilities of completion of that project are evaluated. It is shown that the use of this method may result in discovery of merely some local sub-Permian structures in J\IW Poland whereas tracing and recognition of the remaining ones would require further seismic surveys, modern, precise and carefully conducted.
