Abstract

THE QUESTION OF SEARCH FOR OIL AND GAS IN POLAND Summary The paper presents results of geological-prospecting works carried out in Poland in the last 38 years as well as the achieved increase in proven resources and exploitation of oil and gas. At that background there are outlined premises for further intensification of these works. Perspective areas in the Polish Lowlands, Carpathian foreland and the Carpathians are discussed with reference to the results of geological analyses and complex geophysical surveys. The Author emphasizes the necessity to continue exploratory drillings in order to delineate new areas for search for oil and gas in both the Paleozoic and Mesozoic.
