CORRELATIONS OF QUARTZ GRAIN ROUNDNESS INDICES OBTAINED WITH THE USE OF MECHANICAL GRANIFORMAMETRY AND PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECTION
Summary
Of various analyses used in identification of genetic features of detrital sediments, the analyses of roundness of quartz grains are more and more often used in these years. The introduction of various methods of the analyses and techniques of presentation of results make possible direct comparisons. The paper presents some equations for easy comparison of the results, calculated on the basis of results of analyses of 960 samples, carried out with the use of two most widely applied methods (mechanical graniformametry and photographic projection methods).
