Abstract
A NEW LOOK ON ORIGIN OF THE PODHALE FLYSCH SEDIMENTS
Summary
The paper presents summative section and lithostratigraphic map of Podhale Flysch rocks, compiled by the detailed correlation method. Distribution of individual types of sediments and their facies variability are discussed. The studies showed that source areas of clastic material were situated south and south-west of the flysch basin of the Central Western Carpathians. The Podhale Flysch rocks were accumulated at outlets of three submarine canyons as various facies of three submarine fans formed one after another in different parts of the basin of the Central Western Carpathians.
