Abstract
TRACES OF VOLCANIC ACTIVITY IN THE UPPER VISEAN IN THE LUBLIN REGION
Summary
Volcanogenic rocks, represented by tuffs; tuffites and tuffogenic sandstones, have been found in SE, central and NW parts of the Lublin Coal Basin. The hitherto obtained results of petrographic studies suggest that origin of these rocks was related to a single eruption center, and composition of pyrogenic material indicates acidic character of the eruptions. Distribution of these volcanogenic rocks is wide so they may be used as horizons in correlations of the Carboniferous in the Lublin Coal Basin.
