Abstract

RESULTS OF K-AR DATINGS OF VOLCANIC LAVAS FROM THE BOGATYNIA REGION Summary K-Ar datings of volcanic lava flows made it possible to differentiate two periods of igneous-volcanic activity in the Bogatynia region (Żytawa Basin): an early one, correlatable with the Asturian phase of the Variscan cycle, and a younger one, correlatable with the Alpine cycle. Three volcanic-tectonic phases are differentiated in the Alpine cycle. They are dated at about 41 Myr, 31-30 Myr, and 20 Myr, respectively. The two youngest phases possibly correspond to tectonic movements of the Illyrian and Styrian phases.
