Abstract
ANALYSIS OF REMOTE SENSING DATA FOR PROGNOSES OF OCCURRENCE OF MINERAL AND ORDINARY WATERS EXEMPLIFIED BY THE AREA BETWEEN POLANICA, DUSZNIKI AND KUDOWA
Summary
Basing on interpretation of satellite images the ones done with a use of the latest Landsat 5 system TM (Thematic cartographer) inclusive, numerous linear elements were distinguished in mining areas of Polanica, Duszniki and Kudowa. A strict relation was noted of underground ordinary and mineral waters in this area with occurrence of photolineaments that correspond either to known as well as to unidentified tectonic lines. Such relation is especially visible in places where photolineaments cross one another. A distinct connection of distribution and shape of spring zones is observed with a picture of photolineaments. Application of noted dependences opens new possibilities for hydrogeologic investigations and therefore, supply with ordinary as well as mineral waters.
