Abstract

VARIABILITY OF GEOTECHNICAL PARAMETERS IN THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE WARSAW UNDERGROUND Summary Determining of the geotechnical parameters around the undergrounds constructions appers fairly difficult. Due to variability of the geological conditions along several! kilometers of the underground line are observed many changes of the groundwater regime and stress state. These factors determine high variability of phisico-mechanical properties of soils. Changes in water content result in changes in soil structure, shear strength, resistance to low temperatures and dynamic loading, etc. Oedometer and consolidometer tests of soils make possible estimation of various deformability in function of moisture and stress state or nature of consolidation processes and permeability of soils calculations show that the way of settlement mainly depends on unhomogenuity of geological structures. It cause the high variability of properties of the soils. The latter should be determined. taking into account the expected changes in moisture and stress in the soil massif around underground tunnels.
