Abstract

CORRELATION AND FACTOR ANALYSIS OF GEOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE SO-CALLED BLACK SHALES FROM THE SUDETY MTS

Summary
Analysis of linear correlation among the components of the chemical analyses of various black shales from the Sudety Mts. shows that: l) in Silurian metamorphic rocks samples of the Kaczawskie Mts. there exist two groups of well correlated components; 2) in Upper Devonian- Lower Carboniferous sedimentary rock samples of the Bardzkie Mts. there exist 3 groups; 3) in Silurian rock samples of the Bardzkie Mts. there exist 4 groups; 4) in sedimentary rock samples of the Intrasudetic Basin there exist 3 groups. Differences in correlation are due to regional and stratigraphic variability of sampies rocks and due to effects of various factors on their origin. Those factors were determined by means of factor analysis (R-mode). Physical character of the factors can not be precisely determined basing on calculated results and needs further studies.
