Abstract
CLIMATE EVOLUTION, ALLO- AND AUTOCYCLICITY OF SEDIMENTATION: AN EXAMPLE FROM THE PERMO-CARBONIFEROUS CONTINENTAL DEPOSITS OF THE SUDETES, SW POLAND
Summary
A distinct cyclicity was recorded in the carbonate platform of the Main Dolomite o NW. Poland. Its origin is not known yet although seems to be related to eustatic sea level oscillations and longer phases of subaerial exposure during which vadose deposits formed. As they often divide reservoir rocks into several horizons, their discovery is of great practical importance for prognosing directions of changes of reservoir characteristics. The implication of occurrence of several phases of deposition of Main Dolomite in NW Poland is that similar cyclicity and regularities of spatial changes of reservoir properties may be found m the northern part of the Fore-Sudetic monocline.
