Abstract

REMARKS ON THE METHODOLOGY OF THE GEOCHEMICAL PROSPECTING IN THE AREAS INFLUENCED BY INDUSTRIAL AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES Summary Prospecting for ore deposits was begun in the area of the Fore-Sudetic Block under the thick cover of Cenozoic deposits (up to 200m). The first phase of works included methodical investigations on applicability of geochemical methods. Preliminary investigations were carried out to determine the optimum depth of sampling in the area where the geochemical balance in soil horizon is disturbed by industrial and agricultural activity. The second aim was to choose a method for determining geochemical anomalies related to covered mineral deposits. It is proved that the geochemical balance is disturbed to the depth of 0,5 m. Thus geochemical samples should be taken at the depth of 0,8- l ,0 m i.e. below the layer contaminated by human activities. Geochemical anomalies are proposed to be estimated with regard to the elements which are anomalously concentrated in particular assemblage and correlate with each other. The contrast geochemical anomalies are obtained in this way. Exemplary geochemical profiles with anomalous zones discovered in the way described as well as adequate mathematical formulae are presented in this paper.
