Rola martwego lodu w kształtowaniu rzeźby basenu unisławskiego
Abstract
Przesłanki geomorfologiczne i geologiczne wskazują na prawdopodobny udział brył martwego lodu w kształtowaniu rzeźby basenu unisławskiego w dolinie dolnej Wisły poniżej Bydgoszczy. Charakteryzuje to nietypowa morfologia dna doliny i specyficzne struktury sedymentacyjne obecne w wąskich, bądź wysokich i izolowanych wzniesieniach piaszczystych typowych dla tego obszaru, w części "zatopionych" w jeziornych osadach biogenicznych.
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF DEAD ICE BLOCKS IN THE MORPHOGENESIS OF THE UNISŁAW BASIN (CENTRAL POLAND)
Summary
The geomorphologic and geologic premises seem to indicate a role of dead ice blocks in shaping the relief of the UnisławBasin (lower Vistula River valley). This area is characterized by the untypical morphology of basin floor and specific depositional structures found in narrow, or high and isolated sandy elevations. Their origin was probably linked to the dead ice melting process that occurred during Late Glacial time. In the eastern part of the Basin these elevations are partly overlain by Holocene organic lacustrine and swamp deposits, whereas in the western part by floodplain deposits. The fluvial relief overlaps the morphology generated by melting of dead ice blocks.
