AN APPLICATION OF NUMERICALMODEL FOR DETERMINING CONSTANTS OF LANGMUIR’S EQUATION BASED ON COLUMN EXPERIMENTS

Summary
This article discusses interpretation of results derived from column experiments. The study was performed on a column sorptiometer SK–2000. To assess the equivalent concentrations of ions adsorbed on the surface of solid phase, the authors suggest using a one-dimensional model of mass transport in advection-dispersion flux with regard to processes of sorption and ion exchange. The empirical data derived from the experiments performed and the results of model calculation were used for determining constant values of Langmuir’s isotherm. These are preliminary results and this study is ongoing.
