Abstract

INFLUENCE OF LAND USE ON MIGRATION OF COPPER AND ZINC IN GROUNDWATERS OF SHALLOW CIRCULATION ZONE

Summary
The study of chemical changes in groundwaters by using microelements (copper, zinc) as pollution indicators for different land use types (urban agglomeration, farmland, protected area) has revealed that the land use type is not a decisive factor controlling migration of copper and zinc in shallow groundwaters. It has been also observed that when both metals studied are mostly supplied to the environments discussed by air precipitation, the geologic setting and associated character of hydrogeochemical environment play principal role in their migration.
