Profil litostratygraficzny permo-karbonu w zachodniej części Rowu Świerzawy
Abstract
Lithostratigraphical column of the Permo-Carboniferous in the western part of the Świerzawa Graben
Abstract
When describing the lithostratigraphic characteristics of the clastic Permo-Carboniferous rocks in the vicinity of Świerzawa the writer pointed to the presence here of two lithologically different series. They differ in the degree of maturity of both, the conglomerates and the sandstones. In the lower series there occur orthoquartzitic conglomerates and mature subgreywackes and protoquartzites, in the higher series there are polymictic conglomerates and im mature subgreywackes. No texture differences have, however, been observed in the conglomerates of the two series. The differences in colour consist in the deposits of the lower serieq being srey or pinkish while dark-red is the most common colour among the higher up rocks. The strong maturity of the lower series deposits is a result of the reworking of the older deposits. The sediments of the higher series are result of the erosion of the epimetamorphic Cambro-Silurian of the Kaczawskie Mts. Changes in colour result from the varying subfacial development of the particular horizons as well as from the reworking of the soil profile from the source-areas.
