Petrografia i mineralogia piasków złotonośnych Dolnego Śląska

Abstract

W pracy podano charakterystykę petrograficzną i mineralogiczną bardziej znanych miejsc występowania piasków złotonośnych na Dolnym Śląsku. Jakkolwiek dotychczasowa literatura na temat tych utworów jest dosyć bogata, to jednak dotyczy ona w większości przypadków zagadnień historycznych, często w ujęciu popularnonaukowym. Stosunkowo niewielka ilość prac zajmuje się problematyką geologiczną. W opublikowanej literaturze dotyczącej piasków złotonośnych brak jest wyników analiz granulometrycznych, stopnia obtoczenia ziarn skalnych, ilościowego składu petrograficznego i mineralnego, które zostały podane w pracy autora. Ich znajomość jest konieczna dla dokładniejszego wyjaśnienia genezy, wieku i rodzaju sedymentacji tych utworów. Badania petrograficzne i mineralogiczne pozwoliły autorowi na przeprowadzenie porównania między piaskami złotonośnymi występującymi w różnych rejonach Dolnego Śląska, a także umożliwiły porównanie różnowiekowych utworów złotonośnych znajdujących się na tym samym obszarze. Wyniki badań przedstawiono w tabelach i na wykresach.

On the petrography and mineralogy of the goldbearing sands of Lower Silesia

Abstract
The main object of the present paper is to give a petrographic and mineralogical description of all the better known goldbearing sands localities in Lower Silesia. The literature concerning these deposits is fairly abundant but in most cases it deals rather with their history, often in a popular--science style.
Relatively few works deal with geological problems. The literature so far published on the goldbearing sands does not give the results of granulometric analyses or show the roundness of the rock grains or the quantitative petrographic and mineralogic composition which are here presented by the writer.
A knowledge of the above data is indispensible with some accuracy to interpret the origin, age and sedimentation type of these deposits.
The writer's petrographic and mineralogical studies have allowed him to make comparative observations between the goldbearing sands encountered in the various regions of Lower Silesia as well as to compare the goldbearing deposits differing in age but occurring within the same area.
The results of all these investigations are shown in tables and diagrams.
