Petrograficzne i strukturalne problemy północnej okrywy granitu Karkonoszy
Abstract
Petrogenetic and structural problems of the northern cover of the Karkonosze granite
Abstract
A description in detail is here given of the boundary zone between the crystalline Izera-Lusatia massif and the Lower Paleozoic and Uppermost Precambrian of the Kaczawa Mts. and Eastern Lusatia. No continuous dislocation has been observed along this boundary. Moreover, the paper contains a description of the rocks of supracrustal origin as well as of the granitoid rocks from the Izera complex and Eastern Lusatia within the Polish territory. The results of mesostructural investigations are plotted on maps and diagrams. One part of the granitoid rocks resulted from the granitisation of a supracrustal series older than the Cambrian, while another is intrusive in character. The two groups are, however, genetically connected. The main lineation in the area under investigation is referable to the Young Caledonian tectogenesis which is also responsible for the effects of epizonal metamorphism.
