Abstract

This paper presents the results of stratigraphic investigations of cores from six boreholes drilled in the eastern part of Fore-Sudetic Monocline extending from the vicinities of Poznań to the area east of Kalisz. On the basis of plant and animal remains, the age of Carboniferous strata occurring in these boreholes was determined as Visean, Namurian and Westfalian. Plant fossils are represented by lepidodendrons and calamites, while the animal ones, by goniatites, pelecypods and nautiloids.
