The origin of uranium mineralization in the Karkonosze-Izera massif (Sudetes)

In the region of the Karkonosze-Izera massif uranium mineralization occurs, developed during four stages. The first stage represents formation of the mineralization as a result of pneumo-hydrotermal processes causing the regional leucocratization. The second stage corresponds to formation of the mineralization genetically related to the Karkonosze granite, of Carboniferous age. The third stage is a hydrothermal activity taking place during the Variscan orogeny; the fourth stage corresponds to formation of the mineralization due to exogenic processes in the Paleocene, Eocene and Oligocene.
