Abstract
The development of valleys in the southern part of the Cracow Upland
Rozwój sieci dolinnej w południowej części Wyżyny Krakowskiej dokonał się po ustąpieniu morza tortońskiego a przed nadejściem zlodowacenia krakowskiego. U schyłku pliocenu, w wyniku wyprzątania osadów trzeciorzędowych z zapadliska krzeszowickiego, doszło do utworzenia subsekwentnej doliny Rudawy.
The consequent drainage pattern in the southern Cracow Upland developed after the regression of the Tortonian Sea. Three phases of valley incision into the pre-Tortonian floor are evidenced by rocky terraces formed between the Middle Pliocene and the onset of the Mindel Glaciation. At the close of the Pliocene, the early consequent pattern of rivers was changed into a subsequent one, following the formation of the subsequent Rudawa river within the excavated Krzeszowice rift-valley.
