Abstract

Discontinuity surfaces in the Ordovician limestones of the eastern part of the Peribaltic syneclise (NE Poland)

 A description and a genetic interpretation are given of discontinuity surfaces occurring in Ordovician limestones. These surfaces had formed under subaqueus conditions, mostly in result of changes in the rate of carbonate sedimentation. Granting that this is a sensitive though relative index of the sedimentation rate it may prove useful in the thickness analysis of carbonate deposits.
