Microfacial analysis of the Zechstein Limestone in the Eastern Part of the Peri-Baltic Syneclise (Preliminary report)

Abstract

The paper presents a microfacial analysis of the Zechstein calcareous rocks (Ca 1) from the eastern part of the Peri-Baltic syneclise based on materials from 27 boreholes drilled by the Oil Research Survey. Twenty microfacies in 5 groups namely the recrystallized, algal, faunistic, laminated and nonlaminated are distinguished. Basing on microfacial analysis, sedimentation zones were established, i.e. basin, reef, back-reef and bank facies.
