Abstract

The abundant Chitinozoa were found in clayey shale fragments, one at the components of a Lower Ordovician conglomerate, occurring at Międzygórz near Opatów in the Holy Cross Mts. This conglomerate has hitherto been considered as Tremadocian. Here occurring species, Desmochitina minor Eisenack, Lagenochitina cf. esthonica Eisenack and Rhabdochitina magna Eisenack, indicate a younger age, probably Arenigian. A new species of the Chitinozoa, viz. Cyathochitina primitiva sp. n., has also been established.
