Abstract

The assemblage of Anisian foraminifers found for the first time in the high-tatric series of the Tatra Mts includes the stratigraphically important forms, Glomospira densa (Pantić) and Glomospirella grandis (Salaj), indicative of the latest Early Anisian through Early Illyrian age. The recognized Animan assemblage appears markedly impoverished quantitatively and qualitatively in relation to the contemporaneous Tethyan assemblages, despite of identical microfacies development of the foraminifers-bearing sequences.
