Some Valanginian ostracodes of the genus Protocythere Triebel, 1938, from Central Poland

Abstract

Two new species of the genus Protocythere Triebel, viz. Protocythere vonvalensis sp. n. and Protocythere lewinski sp. n. (including forma lewinskii and forma bireticulata) from Valanginian deposits of Wąwal are erected. In addition, Protocythere helvetica Oertli for the first time is reported from Poland. The morphology and the distribution patterns of normal pore-canals of the species under description are also discussed.
