Abstract

Famennian-Tournaisian condensed sequence (up to anchoralis Zone) covering a carbonate platform shows the maximum condensation and the largest stratigraphic gaps in the southwestern part of the Holy Cross Mts, Central Poland. Disconformity between the Givetian (lowermost Fransian ?) and the Famennian is the only one caused by a tectonic uplift and abrasion. Other diastems were related to submarine nondeposition; their lateral extension is variable and rather limited, and their equivalent marine, often pelagic sediments occur in the neighborhood.
