Growth stages of Paraspidoceras (Paraspidoceras) helymense (Gemmellaro, 1875) (Ammonitina, Aspidoceratidae) from the Oxfordian of southern Spain

Abstract

Six ontogenic stages of Paraspidoceras (Paraspidoceras) helymense (Gemmellaro) are recognized within the newly collected material in southern Spain. The occurrences of this species appear to be limited to the Middle Oxfordian of the Mediterranean and of adjoining parts of the Submediterranean province.
