Abstract

Stannite, found by mineralogical studies in the cassiterite-sulfide deposits of the Kamienica Chain (Izera Mts), being almost perfectly of theoretical composition, occurs in paragenesis with chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite and other diverse sulphides. Newly·recognized post-sulfide cassiterite was probably formed by stannite decomposition. The presence of stannite proves hydrothermal origin of the cassiterite-sulfide mineralization of the Izera Mts.
