Abstract

CONTIUBUTIONS TO THE MORPHOGENESIS OF THE "ZAKOPANE TRIANGLE" IN THE ZKOPANE DEPRESSION

Research work in the western part of the Zakopane Depression has permitted the reconstruction of the old beds of the streams of Cicha Woda, Strążyski, Biała and Bystra, and of fluvial Quaternary accumulation. In this part of the Zakopane Depression, the so called "Zakopane triangle" the occurrence has been noted of an older sedimentation referable to the first stage of the last glaciation, as well as of erosion stages of the Aurignac interglacial period. The latter have been interpreted on field observations and air-photographs. The youngest "Zakopane talus cone" has been deposited the streams of Bystra, Białe and Strążyski from post-Aurignac to older Holocene times.
