Abstract

Traces of copper in the aalenian of the Peniny Klippen-belt (central Carpathians)

In marly shales of the so-called Subflysch beds :(Lower Aalenian) of the Branisko series (see fig. 1, beds 6-8) from the Pieniny Klippen-belt, in the vicinity of the Czorsztyn Castle, traces of copper have been discovered in form of malachite infiltrations associated with stains of manganese on surface of cracks. The following results were obtained on analysing shale fragments from exterior and interior parts of stratum.
