Abstract

Anthracoceras discus Frech from the Gołonóg sandstone and the age of this rookTwo specimens of Goniatites are described. They have been collected from an outcrop of Carboniferous rocks in a railway excavation at Gołonóg (Upper·Silesia). These Goniatites, belonging to species Anthracoceras discus Frech, indicate that the Gołonóg sandstones are referable to the Namurian and not to the uppermost Visean, as has been heretofore postulated.
