Abstract

Albian rocks from Maziarka near Ćmielow

Green glauconitic sands, occurring in depressions of the rough surface .of the MaIm and Callovian deposits of the north-eastern margin of the Holy Cross Mts. are overlaid near Maziarka by phosphorite, concretions. These sands are of Albian age and constitute the remnants of a formerly continuous sedimentary mantle referable to the Middle Cretaceous transgression. It is postulated that the boundaries of this transgression should be shifted far towards the central zone of the Holy Cross Mts.
