Abstract

New Culm fauna from Konradów near Wałbrzych

Brief descriptions are given of Culm fossils (brachiopods, gastropods and lamellibranchs) from the newly discovered locality at Konradów (intrasudetic basin). On the basis of the composition of the faunal assemblage and· the mode of its occurrence, as well as on the lithofacial character of the deposit the writer thinks that they developed during a period of considerable shallowing and low salinity of the Culm sea (estuarine environment). The faunal species here considered are new in this outcrop and provide additional data concerning the distribution of the Culm fauna within the. intrasudetic basin.
