Abstract

HEAVY MINERALS IN FLYSCH AALENIAN SANDSTONES FROM THE PIENINY KLlPPEN-BELTHeavy minerals in sandstones from the Pieniny Mts. Flysch AalenIan have been separated and identified. A key mineral assemblage of the Aalenian consisting of garnet, zircon, rutile, tourmaline and staurolite was recognized. The absence was confirmed of minerals from the amphibole and pyroxene groups.
