Abstract

TUFFITES FROM VARlEGATED BEDS 0F THE PIENINY KLlPPEN-BELT MANTLE (CENTRAL CARPATHIANS)Description is given of biotite-felspar tuffites, discovered in variegated beds of the Pieniny Klippen-belt mantle around Szczawnica (Central Carpathians). The tuffites, most probably of Danian or Danian-Paleocene age, are referable to the activity of primorogenic volcanism of the Laramide phase, connected with Upper Cretaceous eruption centres of the axial zone of the External Carpathians geo-syncline.
