Abstract

Paleoecology and micropalaeontological stratigraphy of the Miocene in the vicinity of Grzybów near Staszów

The writer has examined 250 samples collected from Tortonian and Sarmatian sediments reached in 10 boreholes in the vicinity of Grzybów near Staszów (S. Poland). The microfaunal zones and horizons differentiated there have been compared with analogous zones in the region of Tarnobrzeg-Chmielnik. The ecological conditions in the particular zones have been determined on the occurrence of the more important foraminiferal genera and species in modern seas.
