Tektonika Wschodnich Karkonoszy i ich stanowisko w budowle Sudetów
Abstract
EASTERN KARKONOSZE TECTONICS AND TOElR POSmON IN THE SUDETEN STRUCTURE
Two Pre-Cambrian rock formations have been ascertained within the eastern Karkonosze Mountains. One is made up mainly of mica schists; the other of amphibolites. The associated gneisses have been formed owing to granitisation of both formations. East and south of the Hercynian granite intrusion these series are arranged into two recumbent folds; the lower Rudawy Janowickie – Śnieżka fold has been overthrust , southwards, the upper Leszczyniec fold WNW during a younger orogenic phase. Both folds have been formed during Pre-Cambrian movements. Together with the overlying older Palaeozoic and the Inner Sudeten Culm series they have been bent eastwards along the steep transverse flexure (the flexural inclination of the eastern Karkonosze Mountains). The flexure is of Post-Carboniferous age.
